COVID-19 has impacted us all with social distancing and lockdown measures that are forcing parents to make the hard decision to keep their children home or send them to school. Our children’s educational experience is changing due to COVID-19, but are there Indoor Air Quality concerns that we should address at home as well.

As we make this decision, we are all facing a variety of risks to our health as we go about our day-to-day lives. We drive cars, visit grocery stores, and we are exposed to environmental pollutants that vary in degrees of risk. According to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), “a growing body of scientific evidence has indicated that the air within homes and other buildings can be more seriously polluted than outdoor air …”. Research has proven we spend 90% of our day indoors. With parents leaning towards homeschooling their children during the COVID-19 Pandemic, it is even more important to assess your home’s IAQ (Indoor Air Quality).

Indoor air pollutants are much like COVID-19, we can’t see the contaminants although they are all around us as we live our lives within the bubble of our home.
